Quickly Losing His Standing

First week and a half? Easiest baby of the three.

Last 5 days? Not so much anymore. Maeve takes her place back as easiest.

He's nursing well, but killing me on the right side even with all the correction I've done to his latch on. And sleep? Typical day and night mix up, but worse than that, he won't lie down and sleep. We gave in and brought the car seat inside. He likes sitting up to sleep a bit better (I think he has a teeny bit of reflux, nothing to worry about, but this seems to help the air come up without the milk).

So now my days and nights are upside down, which is fine while Mike is home, but he goes back to work Monday. I expect next week will be one big blur. Can't wait.

He may surprise you yet. I seem to remember an easy week or two after birth with my second, then a weird fussy interval, then back to easy.

oh, good luck. I look back and don't really remember how I made it through those days of no-sleep. (And I only had 2!)

Bridgett, did any of your other kids have reflux? I had reflux with 2 of mine, and baby had milk protein allergy. Showed up like gangbusters at 5 weeks. I was off ALL dairy products until I stopped nursing at 9 months. If you ever want to pick my brain, I am ripe for the picking. Also I have a great book to recommend if you need it.

Hmm. No--the other two did not spit at all. At all. But Sophia did have a milk protein allergy--it showed up as that target red rash and watery mucousy diarrhea. I cut out all dairy and two weeks later, she was fine--I slowly introduced dairy back into my diet at around 8 or 9 months (cheese, yogurt) and by a year, she didn't have any other symptoms.

He doesn't have the rash or the diarrhea. But it will make me go read up again in the breastfeeding answer book (the good LLL resource--as opposed to the rather useless "Womanly Art of Breastfeeding").
