3. steamboat whistles
4. campfire crackles and hisses
5. ocean waves
6. electric fans (window, box)
7. bird song--especially ones whose "words" I know (who cooks for you? What chew, birdy birdy; oh sweet Canada)
8. orchestras warming up (the cacophony before the final tuning)
9. roller coaster cars on tracks
10. church bells

It's Mardi Gras, at least for a little while longer, and I lived in
Houston, which is close enough to East Texas and Louisiana ...

ooh next week you should do ten least favorite sounds. Like, car crash, alarm clock, sound of Gilbert Godfrey's voice, etc.
